Die Doerfer darauf leben damit. Die Pfahlhaeuser von Kampong Phluk stehen sechs bis zehn Meter hoch auf ihren Stelzen, im Maerz trocken darunter und im Oktober wadentief; Kampong Khleang ist groesser, weiter draussen und deutlich weniger besucht; Chong Kneas liegt am naechsten zu Siem Reap und ist am touristischsten. Welches Dorf passt und ob das Boot den ueberfluteten Wald ueberhaupt erreichen kann, haengt vollstaendig vom Monat ab.

Leider haben wir den Ausflug abbrechen müssen, da die Hitze zu groß war und es uns nicht gut ging. Deshalb konnten wir den Teil mit dem Tonle Sap See nicht mehr machen. Aber bis dahin war alles super. Die Kulen Mountain und Beng Malea waren sehr interessant und unser Guide sehr nett. Er hat uns auf der Fahrt auch viel über Kambodscha erzählt, was wirklich interessant war.

I'm still in shock how good & kind he was. The tour itself is well designed and a great break from temple days. I recommend doing it on day 2 with a 3-day Angkor pass, as entrance to the jungle temple is included. It was my favorite temple so far due to the surrounding nature & fewer crowds.
