Ubuds Ruf als Balis Kunststadt geht auf die 1930er Jahre zurueck, als sich die Maler Walter Spies und Rudolf Bonnet hier niederliessen und zusammen mit der Koenigsfamilie die Kuenstlervereinigung Pita Maha gruendeten, die den Ubud-Malstil praegte. Die Museen Neka, Puri Lukisan und ARMA besitzen die besten Sammlungen, und die Doerfer rund um die Stadt sind weiterhin spezialisiert: Batuan auf Malerei, Mas auf Schnitzkunst, Celuk auf Silber. Studio-Workshops machen daraus ein paar Stunden, in denen Sie mit einem Lehrer selbst etwas herstellen, und Sie nehmen das Stueck mit. Tragen Sie Kleidung, die Farbe, Wachs oder Faerbemittel vertraegt.

I think it would have been nice to see some examples and techniques before starting. Additionally I was allowed to pick only 5 colors which it has frustrated me a little. The experience is ok, but with small improvements I think I can be great.
