Kintamani ist der Grat am Rand der Batur-Caldera, auf etwa 1.500 Metern, und der Aussichtspunkt Penelokan blickt hinab auf den Vulkan, das Lavafeld des Ausbruchs von 1968 und den Batur-See. Die Kaffeeplantagen entlang dieser Strasse bieten Verkostungen von lokalem Arabica und Robusta sowie von Zibet-verarbeitetem Kopi Luwak an; die Verkostungen sind kostenlos in Erwartung eines Kaufs, und es lohnt sich, bei einigen nach den Zibetkatzen in Kaefigen zu fragen, bevor man kauft.

The tour had exactly what I wanted to see, the Tegalalang rice terrace, a coffee plantage and the mountain/vulcano overview. I could take all the time I needed and didn't feel rushed at all. Not only did I see all the beautiful landscapes, I also learned a lot about Bali, the culture/traditions and its people. The driver was very knowledgable and I could ask him anything. There was some time left after we saw everything and I could even make suggestions to go to other places I wanted to see. So we also went to Ubud Palace and the market. I had a lovely day! Would really recommend this tour.

It was a great and very diverse tour. The Rice fields were gorgeous, and the view of the vulcano was truly amazing especially as I could enjoy it while having a great lunch. My driver/guide Mr Pancha was a sweetheart, a true gentlemen and very knowledgeable. Can highly recommend the tour!

The climb is a steady two hours on loose volcanic ground with a steep final section, fine for average fitness in closed shoes.
