Jatiluwih ist die groesste Flaeche an terrassierten Reisfeldern auf Bali, etwa 600 Hektar an den Suedhaengen des Mount Batukaru in Tabanan, und ist das Vorzeigebeispiel des subak-Bewaesserungssystems, das die UNESCO 2012 gelistet hat. Anders als Tegallalang gibt es hier Platz, um ein bis zwei Stunden auf markierten Pfaden durch die Felder zu laufen, ohne Verkehr oder Schaukeln, und die Terrassen hier sind breit und flach statt steil. Reis wird in Zyklen gepflanzt, daher sind die Felder einige Monate leuchtend gruen und andere abgeschnittene Stoppeln; fragen Sie den Anbieter, in welcher Phase sie gerade sind, wenn Ihnen die Fotos wichtig sind. Morgens ist es klarer, und ueber dem Batukaru baut sich nach Mittag meist Bewoelkung auf.

This activity was great, riding through the rice fields. However I thought it would be a relaxing ride but didn’t think about some of the rocky paths or turns. I can ride a bike however first time on a e-bike so I ended up falling at a turn. However the guide was great in making sure I was ok and cleaned up the little scratches. It was an experience alright 😅

C’était vraiment super ! Notre guide nous as énormément fait découvrir sur la nature environnante. Ils nous a fait de superbe clichés ! Les vélos était top et heureusement que nous avons prit électrique car c’est un peu sport parfois ! Nous recommandons à fond ! Merci !
