Der Heilige Affenwald in Padangtegal, am suedlichen Rand der Stadt Ubud, umfasst etwa 12 Hektar Wald mit rund tausend Langschwanzmakaken und drei Tempeln aus dem vierzehnten Jahrhundert. Die Affen sind wild und an Menschen gewoehnt, eine Kombination, die Besucher taeglich Sonnenbrillen, Wasserflaschen und alles Essbare kostet; die Regel lautet, nichts Loses zu tragen, Blickkontakt mit einem starrenden Affen zu vermeiden und niemals einen zu beruehren. Der Wald oeffnet um 9:00 Uhr, und die letzte Stunde vor Schliessung ist am ruhigsten. Die Tempel im Inneren sind aktive Tempel und werden nur von Betenden betreten.

We did the monkey forest, zip line and temple with Yoga. It was amazing. We had such a fun experience and Yoga was such a friendly and educational guide. We learnt so much about Balinese culture. I would recommend Yoga to anyone wanting to book, he is such a likeable, kind and considerate guide. We look forward to our next trip.
