Hiroshimas Friedenspark liegt auf dem Boden unter dem Punkt, an dem die Bombe am 6. August 1945 um 8:15 Uhr explodierte. Die Atombombenkuppel, das Skelett der Industrieförderungshalle, wurde so belassen, wie sie stand; das Friedensmuseum öffnete 2019 nach einem Umbau wieder und dauert etwa zwei Stunden und ist nicht für kleine Kinder geeignet. Hiroshimas eigenes Essen ist Okonomiyaki mit Nudeln geschichtet, gegessen an den Theken in Okonomimura. Miyajima ist 40 Minuten entfernt und die meisten Besucher kombinieren beide an einem Tag.
