Drive to Sinharaj arainforest

You will be picked up from the hotel on the west coast anddrive to the Sinharaja rainforest; the duration of the drive is about 12 hours. Later explore the fascinating tropical fauna and flora in the rainforest on a guided tour.

Udawalawe safari

After enjoying the tropical trees, plants and veins, drive to the next highlight of the day, Udawalawe National Park. You will be doing a guided safari at the park, which lasts about 4 hours.

Hill country train from Ella

January to March for the clearest Ella Gap views. June to September is dry but hazy from the Uva wind; October to December is wet. Do everything before nine in the morning. The Gap view is clearer in the morning in every month, Little Adam's Peak has a queue by nine, and the Nine Arch Bridge has hundreds of people on it by ten.
December to March is the driest stretch. Colombo sits on the west coast, so it gets the southwest monsoon roughly May to September — the northeast monsoon (October to January) hits the *other* side of the island instead.
