teamLab ist das Tokioter Kollektiv, das Kunst macht, in die man hineingeht statt sie anzusehen, und Phenomena ist ihr Abu-Dhabi-Museum auf Saadiyat Island, ein eigens errichteter Raum im Kulturviertel neben dem Louvre.

Die Werke hier sind umgebungsbasiert statt projiziert: Installationen, die auf Luftstroemungen, Wasser, Temperatur und die Anwesenheit der Menschen reagieren, die sich durch sie bewegen, sodass keine zwei Besuche dasselbe hervorbringen und nichts in einer Schleife laeuft. Manche Raeume durchwaten Sie, von manchen sind Sie umgeben, und die Grenze zwischen einem Werk und dem naechsten ist bewusst unklar.

Praktische Dinge, die den Besuch besser machen. Tragen Sie etwas, in dem Sie sich bewegen koennen, und Schuhe, die leicht ausziehbar sind, da mehrere Raeume barfuss betreten werden. Manche Boeden sind nass und manche Bereiche dunkel mit unebenem Untergrund, flache Schuhe, keine Absaetze. Und Spiegelboeden sind ein Merkmal dieser Art von Werk, also sind Roecke und Kleider vorab zu ueberdenken.

This was one of the best things I’ve ever done I stayed 3&1/2 hours and realllly enjoyed each room. I didn’t just go next next. And I had the strong meditation green tea in the Japanese tea light room 😐 Go go and go it’s amazing

It was an incredible experience, and I’ll be honest it exceeded my expectations, I had such a fun time! But also I’d like to mention how friendly and attentive the staff are I cannot say one bad thing about them. There was one particular member of staff, apologies I didn’t catch the name that explained everything to me and even offered to take pictures and videos of me in the first room. Thank you again for an amazing experience!

Yes. Transport is not included here, so you make your own way to the meeting point. Taxis and Careem are cheap and everywhere, though Abu Dhabi has no metro, so a car is the way to get around. Allow for traffic, which is heavy in the late afternoon.

Plan for most of a day rather than a couple of hours. Between queues, the walk between zones and the heat, a rushed visit is where people feel they did not get their money's worth.
