Al Khayma ist das groesste der Wuestencamps und dies ist das Premium-Ticket dafuer, was in der Praxis drei separate Buffets statt einer Schlange bedeutet, einen Sitzbereich fern vom Hauptgedraenge, und genug Zeit, das Camp richtig zu nutzen, statt zu essen und zu gehen.

Der Nachmittag beginnt wie jede gute Safari: Hotelabholung im 4x4, Reifen abgelassen an der Duenenlinie, und eine halbe Stunde ueber den roten Sand. Sandboarding und ein Kamelritt folgen, und es gibt einen Falken im Camp, der Vogel sitzt auf Ihrem Handschuh, was ein besseres Foto ergibt, als die meisten erwarten.

Die drei Buffets sind emiratisch, marokkanisch und arabisch, jedes mit eigener Live-Station, und sie dauern lange genug, dass Sie nicht gehetzt werden. Rundherum bietet das Camp Henna, Shisha, Kamelfuetterung, und die Tanoura- und Feuershows des Abends.

Zwei Dinge, mit denen Sie planen sollten. Das Dune Bashing ist nicht sanft, melden Sie also Ruecken-, Nacken- oder Reisekrankheitsbedenken bei der Buchung. Und die Wueste wird zwischen November und Februar nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit wirklich kalt, das Camp ist seitlich offen, und eine Jacke macht die letzten zwei Stunden viel angenehmer.

Amazing experience on this safari. Ask the activities were fun and well catered for our children. Food at the end was amazing and activities were plentiful. Highly recommend it.

Wow, wow, wow! This trip exceeded all our expectations. Our guide, Babar, was friendly, informative and incredibly attentive. He taught us so much about the history and culture of the UAE and made sure we were happy and comfortable throughout the experience. The highlights for me were the dune bashing, quad biking and camel ride. The food was delicious and plentiful, and there were several air-conditioned tents where you could escape the intense heat when needed. My 10-year-old loved every minute of it! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this experience—and especially Babar—to anyone visiting Dubai.
