Fünf Tage, die Pu Luong zur üblichen Nordrunde hinzunehmen, und das ist es, was diese Reise ihre Länge wert macht.

Pu Luong ist ein Naturreservat in der Provinz Thanh Hoa, vier Stunden südwestlich von Hanoi, und eine völlig andere Landschaft als die Karstbuchten. Reisterrassen klettern die Talflanken hinauf, Dörfer der Thai- und Muong-Minderheiten liegen auf dem Talboden, und Wasserräder aus Bambus heben Flusswasser in die Terrassen.
