Hanoi ist tausend Jahre alt und zugleich eine französische Kolonialhauptstadt, beides auf einmal: die 36 Gassen der Altstadt, jede nach der Zunft benannt, die dort handelte, der See des zurückgegebenen Schwertes in ihrer Mitte, der Literaturtempel von 1070, das Mausoleum, in dem Ho Chi Minh aufgebahrt liegt (nur vormittags, montags und freitags geschlossen sowie zwei Monate im Herbst), und das baumbestandene französische Viertel mit seinen Villen und dem Opernhaus. Die Cafés der Train Street, wo die Bahn einen Meter neben den Tischen vorbeifährt, öffnen und schließen, je nachdem, wie die Behörden gerade entscheiden. Der Eierkaffee wurde hier 1946 erfunden, bun cha ist das Mittagessen, und das Wasserpuppentheater am See ist der Abend. Von Dezember bis Februar ist Hanoi kühl und grau, von Mai bis September heiß; Oktober und November sind die besten Monate.

We were extremely happy with our motorbike tour. Our guide, Tu and Ryan met us at our hotel. They even allowed us to start a bit later because we were delayed. After a quick briefing of safety precautions we were off on a wonderfully organized and well thought tour of Hanoi old quarter and French quarter. I can assure you that you could never experience a better tour of the city unless you do it by motorbike. We loved the experience and I highly recommend it. The tour can be customized to your personal preferences. Our guides were helpful and very informative.
My tour with Mac was a lovely one. Mac took me around and explained everything so patiently. He was super kind and polite and I had a great time talking to him about Vietnam and other stuff. Would highly recommend this tour if you have time to kill and would like a personalised experience without being in the middle of a huge group. 10/10

We did the tour with Liam and Justin. Both were excellent drivers and guides. The best way to see the city is on the back of a scooter. Both guides were passionate and knowledgeable about their city and took us to some great spots. I felt safe in the traffic at all times. Would definitely recommend.
Our guide Long was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. He told us a lot about Vietnamese history but also about life in Hanoi. He was a also competent driver, I never felt unsafe. His colleague who I have forgotten the name of but who's first day it was was eager to learn and will soon also become an excellent guide, I am sure. Both Long and his English was impressive. Would definitely recommend the tour!
Great tour, with great English speaking guides. Tung and Ming were great drivers. Would highly recommend. Worth noting that the Mausoleum is closed on Fridays and Mondays, but it is still informative.
This was the best tour I have been on it whilst in Hanoi. Baron, my guide, was brilliant. He was very informative and patient and spoke excellent English. I highly recommend this tour if you want to discover parts of Hanoi that you wouldn't normally see.
Walter and Kane were amazing guides. They were incredibly knowledgeable about every question we asked and every sight we saw. The motorcycle city tour was absolutely wonderful. The guide MAC was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so many fascinating stories with genuine enthusiasm, revealing Vietnamese culture and the city from a truly engaging perspective. It is always a pleasure to learn about culture, traditions, and their symbols from someone who sincerely loves their heritage and is passionate about what he do. Great tour of Hanoi and the motorbikes were a fun and efficient way to get around town. Before booking I was slightly concerned about safety on the motorbikes but as soon as we started I felt comfortable and safe. Our guides Walter and Oliver were very knowledgeable and friendly and went out of their way to help us even after the tour. Great way to spend a day thanks to the excellent guides!
