Hanoi ist tausend Jahre alt und zugleich eine französische Kolonialhauptstadt, beides auf einmal: die 36 Gassen der Altstadt, jede nach der Zunft benannt, die dort handelte, der See des zurückgegebenen Schwertes in ihrer Mitte, der Literaturtempel von 1070, das Mausoleum, in dem Ho Chi Minh aufgebahrt liegt (nur vormittags, montags und freitags geschlossen sowie zwei Monate im Herbst), und das baumbestandene französische Viertel mit seinen Villen und dem Opernhaus. Die Cafés der Train Street, wo die Bahn einen Meter neben den Tischen vorbeifährt, öffnen und schließen, je nachdem, wie die Behörden gerade entscheiden. Der Eierkaffee wurde hier 1946 erfunden, bun cha ist das Mittagessen, und das Wasserpuppentheater am See ist der Abend. Von Dezember bis Februar ist Hanoi kühl und grau, von Mai bis September heiß; Oktober und November sind die besten Monate.

What an amazing 3 days on the Ha Giang loop. Would thoroughly recommend using authentic Ha Giang tours for doing the loop. Smaller more intimate groups, you get to know and make friends with everyone. The guides really take their time and bring you the best routes and the best stops. My guide Boo really looked after me and never had me wanting for everything. He was a real friend for the 3 days. Memories that will last forever. Breathtaking scenery every step of the way.

I was assigned to Authentic Ha Giang and didn’t have a good experience with them inspite of paying one of the highest cost for a 3 day tour ~ 300USD. What worked - 1. it was a small group as i had specifically chosen 2. my bike driver was good What didn’t work - 1. Poor communication from Mr Thai of Ha Giang. He didn’t answer the queries properly on whatsapp. Didn’t inform the options to get back to Hanoi after closing the tour. I ended up choosing a stuffy can vs a sleep i could have taken if he had communicated. 2. Quality of tour management- They tried to save costs by assigning the four wh

I liked the fact our guide made the whole trip about what the groups needs and what they wanted to do . The only thing that could be improved is the pickup from hotel until getting on board sleeper bus .it was chaos. After that whole excursion was perfect.

Would highly recommend this tour! Completed the 3 day tour with Johnny as our guide and it was an unforgettable experience. The tour was well organised and run and Johnny was an fantastic guide. The views for the full loop were breathtaking. It was also a great opportunity to experience local culture in Ha Giang. The home stays and food throughout the trip were fantastic.

Great small group, beautiful landscapes and safe and friendly easy riders. The food was delicious and there was so much of it. Drinks and kareoke on both nights with our guides which was great to hear all about vietnam

Most day treks are 10 to 15 km on village paths, steep and muddy after rain, done in trainers or light boots. Local Hmong or Dao women guide and set an easy pace. Bring a rain jacket, a warm layer from November to March, cash for the villages, and a small bag; homestays provide mattresses, blankets and dinner. Leave the big luggage at your hotel in town.
