Cu Chi: halber Tag an den weniger besuchten Ben-Duoc-Tunneln in Ho Chi Minh City

We travelled by small minibus, meaning only 10 people on the trip. I was travelling solo and the small numbers o made the experience more friendly . Bottled water was provided (although not refrigerated). En route, we stopped off at a government backed craft making charity, where the people use shells to make Art. The charity assists people who have disabilities as a result of the use of Agent Orange during the Vietnam war. Most of us bought something, the prices are fixed so no haggling needed. The tunnels at Ben Duoc have been made safe but not adapted as much as the ones at Ben Dinh, so off

Kero was an excellent tour guide, so friendly and knowledgeable! He gave us excellent info and tips about Ho Chi Minh and all of Vietnam during the drive to Cu Chi tunnels which was a greatly appreciated added bonus. We loved our Cu Chi tunnels visit with Ken who also went to a lot of trouble to take photos of us along the way. Amazing to see and experience actually being inside the tunnels and squeeze our way to the end of the long section. Hard to imagine what life would’ve been like in such a confined space for such long times. If you are interested in the option to try shooting an AK-47 then my suggestion is to mention it to your guide as it wasn’t offered to us and I didn’t realise until it was too late.

Absolutely worth it Really immersive experience and one of the best ways to understand the history of the Cu Chi tunnels. The visit is a little fast, but you still get to hear a lot of stories and really feel the atmosphere of the place. The biggest highlight was our guide, Jack. He’s a teacher and historian, and his family history and own military experience made everything feel much more real and personal. Ken was an excellent guide. Speaking with knowledge and passion, he had a deep knowledge of the tunnels and family knowledge of the area his grandfather served. The tour was well organised, the transport vehicle was a ford transit which was showing its age. The trip was pleasant enough through HCM hectic traffic with a well timed break before the tunnels at a pottery centre where ceramic art made by persons supporting the citizens affected by the effects of the war. We had a great time on this tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels. We were picked up from our hotel at around 7:00 in the morning and got back at around 15:00. The journey to the tunnels took about 2.5 hours, depending on traffic, with two stops along the way. Our tour guide, Karo, was excellent. He kept the group entertained throughout the trip, shared interesting information about the Vietnam War and the history of Ho Chi Minh City, and also gave us useful recommendations for HCMC. Best tour I’ve taken in Vietnam. Great guide (Nia). Go with a small group like this to this part of the tunnels. You won’t be disappointed. Don’t go with a big group to the more touristy side. You’ll get a much better all around experience with this tour for sure.

We had an amazing time thanks to our guide Kero. He was dedicated to show us the Cu Chi tunnels and wanted to share with us historical accurate information that we really appreciated... a really kind and helpful person who gave us tips not only for the tunnels, but also for the rest of our trip in Vietnam. The group was small and everything went smooth. Only thing I could suggest for this tour is that I would NOT recommended for children under 6 years old.

A great tour with a good introduction to what life in the tunnels was like. A good and very knowledgeable guide helped elevate it all to the top level.
