Hoi An ist ein Handelshafen, den der Thu-Bon-Fluss im 19. Jahrhundert verlanden ließ, und genau deshalb blieb die Altstadt aus chinesischen Ladenhäusern, Versammlungshallen, der japanischen überdachten Brücke und ockergelb getünchten Kaufmannshäusern so vollständig erhalten, dass sie 1999 UNESCO-Welterbe wurde. Die Altstadt ist den größten Teil des Tages für Motorräder gesperrt, abends von Seidenlaternen beleuchtet und am vollsten beim Laternenfest zum Vollmond in jedem Mondmonat. Ringsum: das Gemüsedorf Tra Que, die Wasserkokos-Kanäle von Cam Thanh mit ihren runden Korbbooten, das Töpferdorf Thanh Ha, der Strand von An Bang und, 40 Kilometer landeinwärts, die Cham-Tempelruinen von My Son, am besten um 7:00 Uhr vor den Reisebussen. Die Stadt ist außerdem Vietnams Schneiderhauptstadt; ein Anzug dauert 24 Stunden.

We made two small lanterns with lovely red fabric we got to choose. The frame was already made so it was basically just glueing pre-cut pieces onto the frame, but was fun and relaxing. The location was quiet and the instructor was patient and sweet. It was a little tricky to find the shop so look for the landmarks to find it rather than the address. I recommend- and the lanterns are foldable and were wrapped so we can easily fit in our suitcases. I recommend!

Il corso è solo per incollare il tessuto, la base è già fatta. Lei è attenta anche ai clienti che arrivano a comprare le lanterne. Comunque è molto gentile.

the host was super friendly and helpful it was a fun experience though the host was a bit distracted as she was also manning the shop and had to attend to customers

The price does not cover transportation to the workshop location and meals and drinks. Everything it does cover is listed in full on this page, so if something is not on that list, budget for it separately.
The Hoi An old town ticket (a small fee that covers five heritage houses or halls) is included when the listing says so; otherwise it is bought at the entrance and the guide explains which houses to use it on. The old town is closed to motorbikes for most of the day, and My Son is best at opening time before the tour buses.
We confirm your booking with the operator before we treat it as final, and we need at least one day's notice. Once it is confirmed you get the meeting point, the time and a contact number for the day. If the operator cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.
