Hoi An ist ein Handelshafen, den der Thu-Bon-Fluss im 19. Jahrhundert verlanden ließ, und genau deshalb blieb die Altstadt aus chinesischen Ladenhäusern, Versammlungshallen, der japanischen überdachten Brücke und ockergelb getünchten Kaufmannshäusern so vollständig erhalten, dass sie 1999 UNESCO-Welterbe wurde. Die Altstadt ist den größten Teil des Tages für Motorräder gesperrt, abends von Seidenlaternen beleuchtet und am vollsten beim Laternenfest zum Vollmond in jedem Mondmonat. Ringsum: das Gemüsedorf Tra Que, die Wasserkokos-Kanäle von Cam Thanh mit ihren runden Korbbooten, das Töpferdorf Thanh Ha, der Strand von An Bang und, 40 Kilometer landeinwärts, die Cham-Tempelruinen von My Son, am besten um 7:00 Uhr vor den Reisebussen. Die Stadt ist außerdem Vietnams Schneiderhauptstadt; ein Anzug dauert 24 Stunden.

Amazing day , none of our group had any motorcycle experience …. the instructors were extremely patient and took time in explaining step by step…. lots of fun….highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Hoi an . Thank you for a wonderful afternoon

All round a fantastic experience. I was fortunate enough to get a one on one lesson with Ha Tran, and he went above and beyond to help me. I came in with absolutely no experience and left feeling confident to start riding a scooter! Ha Tran is a wonderful teacher and lovely man, he even offered me a lift home as I was staying close to his office. Very helpful and kind. Thank you Ha Tran! 10/10 would recommend :)

Ha was such a lovely instructor! He explained everything very well and was very patient with my boyfriend and I as we had no previous experience riding motorbikes. He made us both feel comfortable and took things at our speed. We both now feel confident to practice on our own. Thank you Ha! ☺️

I had the best experience learning with Lee. I was very anxious about riding a scooter in Vietnam after having an accident in Bali. I’m also super short and can barely reach the ground with my tippy toes, so it made riding a scooter even more intimidating for me. But Lee helped me rebuild my confidence by taking everything step by step and progressing me at exactly the right pace. His coaching style was the perfect fit for me. Excellent introduction to scooter riding! 1.5 hours of practice on empty roads doing various maneuvers (like circles and figure-eights) on a Shark 50cc. Instructor Lee was patient and gave great feedback. Ready for the city streets next!

The Hoi An old town ticket (a small fee that covers five heritage houses or halls) is included when the listing says so; otherwise it is bought at the entrance and the guide explains which houses to use it on. The old town is closed to motorbikes for most of the day, and My Son is best at opening time before the tour buses.
