Hoi An ist ein Handelshafen, den der Thu-Bon-Fluss im 19. Jahrhundert verlanden ließ, und genau deshalb blieb die Altstadt aus chinesischen Ladenhäusern, Versammlungshallen, der japanischen überdachten Brücke und ockergelb getünchten Kaufmannshäusern so vollständig erhalten, dass sie 1999 UNESCO-Welterbe wurde. Die Altstadt ist den größten Teil des Tages für Motorräder gesperrt, abends von Seidenlaternen beleuchtet und am vollsten beim Laternenfest zum Vollmond in jedem Mondmonat. Ringsum: das Gemüsedorf Tra Que, die Wasserkokos-Kanäle von Cam Thanh mit ihren runden Korbbooten, das Töpferdorf Thanh Ha, der Strand von An Bang und, 40 Kilometer landeinwärts, die Cham-Tempelruinen von My Son, am besten um 7:00 Uhr vor den Reisebussen. Die Stadt ist außerdem Vietnams Schneiderhauptstadt; ein Anzug dauert 24 Stunden.

Absolutely worth it — even if you're a professional chef. I'm a trained chef, so I don't impress easily — but this cooking class genuinely taught me new techniques and dishes I hadn't worked with before. That says a lot. What made it even better was the flexibility: I focused on vegetarian dishes while my boyfriend cooked with meat, so we both got a fully personalized experience. The organization was smooth, the atmosphere was fun, and we left with skills we'll actually use at home. Highly recommend to anyone — beginner or professional.

Wir haben an diesem Kochkurs teilgenommen und es war einfach großartig! Wir hatten unglaublich viel Spaß, haben viel Neues gelernt und konnten alles im Anschluss gemeinsam genießen. Das Essen war super lecker und die Rezepte waren gut erklärt, sodass man wirklich alles nachvollziehen konnte. Die Atmosphäre war entspannt und herzlich – genau so, wie man sich einen Kochkurs wünscht. Absolute Empfehlung für alle, die gutes Essen lieben und Hoi An mit einem besonderen Erlebnis verbinden möchten!
