We loved getting to customize our lanterns. There are dozens of fabric choices and endless combinations you can make. There were several people there who helped me with my lantern, without their help, it would’ve looked pretty terrible at the end. I really appreciated the staff who worked there, they were very helpful if you needed them. They explained the process clearly and gave us a short lesson on the history of the lanterns in hoi an. I would love to do this again in the future.

Dubious at first, but was actually really enjoyable. They took us through how to build it from scratch and helped the whole time to make sure we were happy with the outcome. You get to choose from loads of different patterns for the outside as well so each one is different if you want.

Absolutely amazing! What a lovely morning spent making lanterns. The family working there were lovely, so helpful, and very very friendly. Everything was explained well but you are also left to do things yourself once it’s been explained which means it’s a really nice and chilled environment. They explain the history of lanterns and then help you make your own and even when you make mistakes, they are super helpful! This was a lot of fun! The teachers were so helpful and patient, and did a great job of making our lanterns look good even when we would make little mistakes :) fun, quick experience to add to your time in Hoi An. Also makes you have a deeper appreciation for all the lanterns you see around town!
