Sa Pa liegt auf 1.600 Metern im Hoang-Lien-Gebirge nahe der chinesischen Grenze, eine französische Bergstation der 1920er-Jahre und heute Ausgangspunkt für Trekkingtouren durch die Terrassentäler der Hmong-, Dao- und Giay-Dörfer. Die klassische Wanderung führt vom Ort über Cat Cat oder Y Linh Ho hinunter nach Lao Chai und Ta Van entlang des Muong-Hoa-Tals, fünf bis sechs Stunden, mit Mittagessen in einem Dorfhaus und, bei der Zweitagesvariante, einer Übernachtung im Homestay; die meisten Touren führen einheimische Hmong-Frauen, und die Pfade sind nach Regen schlammig. Der Fansipan, mit 3.143 Metern Indochinas höchster Gipfel, ist eine Seilbahnfahrt von 15 Minuten oder ein zweitägiger Aufstieg. Die Terrassen stehen im Mai und Juni spiegelglatt unter Wasser und sind im September golden; von Dezember bis Februar ist es kalt, oft neblig, und gelegentlich schneit es. Der Sonntagsmarkt von Bac Ha, zwei Stunden entfernt, ist der große Markt der Blumen-Hmong.

The 2days 1 night trekking experience was absolutely amazing! Our guide, Mu, was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful—she explained everything so clearly and made the whole trip even more enjoyable. We got to explore the village up close, and thanks to Mu’s stories and explanations, we could really imagine what daily life is like for the villagers in Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, Ta Van And Giang Ta Chai. It made the experience feel so much more meaningful and authentic. I highly, highly recommend this to everyone—it’s an unforgettable experience!

I did the 2 Days trekking and stay in a bungalow tour with a group and had a fantastic experience. Our guide Vu was exceptional, she knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole journey through the rice terraces and villages feel authentic and special. She explained the culture and history of the local communities beautifully and kept a great pace throughout. The scenery was breathtaking and the meal was delicious. Highly recommend this tour and specifically ask for Vu as your guide, she is outstanding!

I had a wonderful trip. Su was our tour guide, and she enthusiastically introduced us to the Hmong and Zay villages we trekked through. I stayed in a lovely little bungalow, just enough for my privacy. Dinner at the homestay was fantastic, and I especially loved the spring rolls made by a local woman in the family.

I had an amazing trekking experience in Sa Pa! The tour was very well organized, and the guide was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with beautiful rice terraces, mountains, and peaceful villages along the way. I also loved learning about the local culture and meeting kind local people. The trek was enjoyable and suitable for all fitness levels, with plenty of time to rest and take photos. The food and homestay were also great. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sa Pa. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing experience with this trekking tour in Sa Pa! Everything was well organized from start to finish. The guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and always made sure everyone in the group felt comfortable during the trek. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. I had a really enjoyable 2-day, 1-night trip, meeting local people. Our guide told me that the Hmong people here are very poor, they only grow rice once a year. They were very friendly and helped me through the difficult parts of the journey! I highly recommend this trip

Most day treks are 10 to 15 km on village paths, steep and muddy after rain, done in trainers or light boots. Local Hmong or Dao women guide and set an easy pace. Bring a rain jacket, a warm layer from November to March, cash for the villages, and a small bag; homestays provide mattresses, blankets and dinner. Leave the big luggage at your hotel in town.
We confirm your booking with the operator before we treat it as final, and we need at least one day's notice. Once it is confirmed you get the meeting point, the time and a contact number for the day. If the operator cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.
