Angkor Wat fue construido en la primera mitad del siglo 12 por Suryavarman II como templo hindu dedicado a Vishnu, mas tarde convertido al uso budista, y es el monumento religioso mas grande del mundo con aproximadamente 162 hectareas dentro de su foso.
