Alrededor, los arrozales siguen el calendario subak, siembra, inundacion, cosecha y secado en la carretera, y los campos se trabajan a mano y con tractor de mano. Las mananas empiezan temprano: el mercado al amanecer, las ofrendas, el desayuno de arroz y cafe. Visitas como esta las acoge la familia, y unas pocas palabras en indonesio, un sarong para el templo y quitarse los zapatos en la puerta son las cortesias que importan.
