El Parque Memorial de la Paz de Hiroshima se encuentra en el suelo bajo el punto donde la bomba detonó a las 8:15 del 6 de agosto de 1945. La Cúpula de la Bomba Atómica, el esqueleto del salón de promoción industrial, se dejó como estaba; el Museo Memorial de la Paz reabrió en 2019 tras un rediseño y toma unas dos horas, y no es apto para niños pequeños. El Monumento de la Paz de los Niños está adornado con grullas de papel enviadas desde todo el mundo. There is no cost to roam the Shrine or Temple, as well as Peace Park and the many structures there. Entry to the museum is a mere 2000 yen. However, this tour is worth every penny and you get so much more out of the visit when you have a knowledgeable guide who provides insights into the traditions of the Japanese people, as well as context to what you see before you. We were so grateful to meet Kevin who moved from America to make Hiroshima his home. He was respectful and insightful as he told the story behind the events that befell Hiroshima 81 yrs ago. Sobering but absolutely worth it. Thomas was a wealth of knowledge. He was appropriately sombre at times and enjoyably humorous when moments allowed for it. I am in a wheelchair, and Thomas made sure that I was able to access everything.

It was excellent. Amy took her time and explained where we were and what we were doing and went into the history of why Hiroshima was targetted for the A bomb. She had handouts explaining the decisions leading up to ultimately Japan declaring war in 1941 and how the govt did or didnt keep the population updated. We vidited the dome and peace garden and building where the nearest survivor to the bomb was. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this tour
