La cupula de Jean Nouvel es la razon por la que la mayoria viene y merece esa fama. Casi ocho mil estrellas metalicas en ocho capas, flotando sobre las galerias en soportes casi invisibles, dejando caer un patron cambiante que los arquitectos llamaron la lluvia de luz sobre las plazas de abajo. Cambia hora a hora y es gratis estar bajo ella una vez dentro.
La coleccion debajo esta ordenada cronologicamente entre civilizaciones en lugar de dividida por nacion, asi que objetos hechos en el mismo siglo en distintas partes del mundo estan juntos. Es un argumento deliberado sobre la historia humana compartida y es lo mas interesante del museo despues del edificio.
Su entrada cubre las galerias permanentes, las exposiciones temporales, las plazas exteriores bajo la cupula, el cafe y la boutique, mas la aplicacion de smartphone que funciona como audioguia.
Aviso: cerrado los lunes. Planifique en torno a esto, es el error mas comun entre los visitantes de la isla de Saadiyat.
Reserve entre dos y tres horas. Vaya en un dia luminoso si puede elegir, y pase algo de tiempo fuera en las plazas en lugar de todo en las galerias, la cupula es la exhibicion.

It was an perfect experience. Especially the photo spots were amazing 🥰
A lot more interesting things that I thought there was going to be, look up what is there before going and you’ll want to go even more.
Stunning architecture and quite interesting but modest exhibitions. Good for 2 hours I guess. Cafe and restaurant inside also are very nice and views are just beautiful. Security guards, multiple in each room, are a bit intimidating and you feel being watched and observed on every single step. Weird feeling.
The art collection is beautifully curated across 12 galleries. Take your time—over five or six hours you can see most of it. After I finished the permanent collection, I sat under the dome’s shade to reflect on what I had just experienced. Congratulations to the people of the UAE on assembling such a unique selection that shows how humans have lived for centuries and what we have created regardless of ethnic or religious background. I especially loved how items from different civilizations are shown side by side—for example, three platters: one from Venice, another from Ming China, and a third from Persia.
Easy access to the entrance. February is a good moment to go since not too many people. App to follow the paintings is really well done. Possibility to eat lunch at the Fouquets.
I was blown away by the exhibits which were beautifully displayed. I spent 3 hours there which wasn’t enough. Would definitely visit again when in Abu Dhabi.

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would recommend. Great to have cloakroom to leave you bag as well as no water or liquids are allowed inside.
You don’t need a general administration ticket to do the catamaran, and i went on Friday, so there wasn’t a line to take the pictures
Fantastic museum collection and the building itself is an architectural marvel. This ticketing process was quick and easy with not issues gaining entrance.
