Fossil Rock es un jebel mas alla de Al Madam, a una hora aproximadamente de Dubai, y la arena a su alrededor tiene un color y una consistencia distintos de las dunas rojas de los safaris estandar.
La roca es exactamente lo que suena: un afloramiento de piedra caliza lleno de fosiles marinos, depositado cuando toda esta region estaba bajo un mar poco profundo. Puede recoger conchas y fragmentos de coral de un suelo que hoy es el lugar mas seco donde la mayoria de los visitantes han estado, lo que es una razon mejor para estar en un desierto que un buffet.
Los buggies son la forma de cruzarlo. Usted conduce, con un guia que va delante y un briefing primero, sobre dunas mas firmes y empinadas que los tramos turisticos mas cercanos a la ciudad.
Esto conviene a quienes ya han hecho un safari estandar y querian mas conduccion y menos espectaculos, aqui no hay noche de campamento, ni tanoura, ni cola para un buffet. Es una conduccion y un paisaje.
Aviso: fisico y muy polvoriento. Zapatos cerrados, gafas de sol, y ropa que no le importe arruinar. No reservar con problemas de espalda o cuello.
Mejor en los meses mas frescos y mejor temprano; es terreno expuesto sin ninguna sombra en la ruta.
