This was one of the most meaningful experiences we had in Hoi An. The tour moved at a gentle pace, starting with a peaceful visit to an old pagoda before heading into Tra Que village. Meeting the local farmers and learning about organic farming was surprisingly hands-on and fun — planting, watering, and harvesting herbs made us appreciate the food so much more. Everything felt very local and personal, from talking with farmers in Tra Que to enjoying simple food made from ingredients grown just meters away. The Hoi An old town ticket (a small fee that covers five heritage houses or halls) is included when the listing says so; otherwise it is bought at the entrance and the guide explains which houses to use it on. The old town is closed to motorbikes for most of the day, and My Son is best at opening time before the tour buses.
