Oudong, a 40 kilometres au nord-ouest, fut la capitale royale pendant plus de 250 ans jusqu'en 1866, et ses stupas au sommet de la colline conservent les cendres de rois. Le dome art deco du marche central a ouvert en 1937, et le marche russe, proprement Psar Toul Tom Poung, est celui pour l'argent, la soie et les copies.
