Ceci est une experience de 3 heures au depart de Phnom Penh, construite autour de Traditional village and Silk Island. Phnom Penh se trouve au confluent du Mekong, du Tonle Sap et du Bassac, et la promenade en bord de fleuve le long du quai Sisowath est l'endroit ou la ville se promene le soir. Koh Dach, l'ile de la soie, se rejoint par un court ferry en amont et compte encore des tisserands qui travaillent au metier a main sous leurs maisons, vendant directement. Oudong, a 40 kilometres au nord-ouest, fut la capitale royale pendant plus de 250 ans jusqu'en 1866, et ses stupas au sommet de la colline conservent les cendres de rois. Le dome art deco du marche central a ouvert en 1937, et le marche russe, proprement Psar Toul Tom Poung, est celui pour l'argent, la soie et les copies.

We had a lovely day with our guide. He picked us up from our hotel and first took us on a ferry out to the countryside where we learned about the daily life of Cambodians. We saw houses, he walked us through a market, and took us to a local monastery. We then went to silk island where we learned about how silk products are made, from silkworms to silk products. He also took us to a soybean curd facility and were given the option to taste the soybean curds. Finally, he took us to a local restaurant where he bought a full lunch for all of us. We were not expecting that and we had eaten a big bre
Sok Mon is such an exceptional guide. What an absolutely beautiful rural island, with incredibly kind people, just outside Phnom Penh across the Mekong. I learned so much about the process of making silk, from the mulberry leaves to the life cycle of the silkworms, the dyes, and even had the chance to chat with a few artisans while they were at work. I also learned about ginger versus galangal, local costumes, and enjoyed a wonderful local meal by the river. A must.
It was truly an incredible experience with our guide, Thong, and our driver. If you’re looking for something authentic and truly local, don’t hesitate to book this tour. It’s a fantastic way to discover Cambodian culture and experience life in the countryside. Thong was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and passionate, sharing lots of interesting insights throughout the day. I highly recommend this experience 100% worth it!

De tour was echt geweldig! Onze gids Mr. Tina en onze driver waren echt toppers. We hebben een mooie (privé) tour gehad met de tuktuk 🛺. We hebben een bezoek gebracht aan een weverij en mochten zelfs een handje helpen! Daarna hebben we een boerderij bezocht waar tofu werd gemaakt. Enorm indrukwekkend! Op de terugweg heeft onze gids Mr. Tina ons nog getrakteerd op een heerlijke soep en heeft onze driver ervoor gezorgd dat we weer heelhuids teruggekomen zijn bij ons hotel. Het was een mooie dag!
