Ceci est une experience de 8 heures a Siem Reap. Elle est assuree par Angkor Buddy, un operateur avec qui nous reservons directement plutot que via un revendeur, ce qui nous permet de retenir votre place avant de considerer votre reservation comme definitive.
Le lever du soleil a Angkor Wat se regarde depuis le bord du bassin reflechissant nord, ou les cinq tours se detachent en noir contre le ciel puis se dedoublent dans l'eau. Le guichet ouvre a 04h30 et Angkor Wat laisse entrer les visiteurs a partir de 05h00, c'est pourquoi les tours partent de Siem Reap vers 04h30 pour vingt minutes de route ; le ciel se colore avant que le soleil ne depasse les tours, donc arriver aux premieres lueurs est deja tardif pour le meilleur moment. La saison seche de novembre a mars offre les ciels les plus purs, tandis que les pluies apportent des nuages qui peuvent soit gacher le lever du soleil soit le sublimer. Le bord du bassin se remplit tot, le bassin sud est generalement plus calme, et un guide qui sait de quel cote se placer fait la difference entre une photo et un mur de telephones leves.

Phally was a wonderful tour guide and picture taker. :) He’s incredibly knowledgeable, sharing Cambodia’s fascinating history. He’s very patient too. We selected the sunrise private tour and have no regrets. Customize the tour to your liking. I mentioned I wanted some traditional Cambodian gifts and he took us after all the temples. A 4am start was rewarded by a beautiful sunrise over Angkor Wat. Phally made the whole day he was so Knowledgeable and attentive finding shade during some of the brief chats about the history. We felt able to ask a little about Cambodia and it was clear the he loved his country. It was great to get a feel for both the history of the temples , but also the context of Cambodia today, its difficulties and possibilities for the future. A wonderful day that would not have been possible without Phally.

Our guide Sokh was great. He told us a lot about the history of the Angkor Kingdom and the temples. We spoke about the meaning of the carvings. The place is also very nice and well organized.
