L'hindouisme balinais est une religion de pratique quotidienne : les petites offrandes en feuilles de palmier, canang sari, sont disposees chaque matin devant les portes, sur les autels et les tableaux de bord, et chaque temple de village a ses fetes selon son propre calendrier, si bien qu'il y a une ceremonie quelque part sur l'ile chaque jour. Les visiteurs entrent dans les temples en sarong et echarpe, fournis a l'entree, et restent hors des cours interieures pendant la priere. Nyepi, le jour du silence en mars, ferme l'ile entiere pendant 24 heures, y compris l'aeroport et les routes, et les circuits ne fonctionnent pas ce jour-la. Les balian, les guerisseurs traditionnels, et les liseurs de lignes de main pratiquent encore dans les villages autour d'Ubud, et une lecture est une conversation avec un interprete plutot qu'un spectacle.

It was a beautiful spiritual day doing the water purification and visiting the pal reader. I would highly recommend Sumadi as a guide, he was very patient, took lovely photos and was very knowledgeable about the water privation.

My guide Dharma was excellent! He was so knowledgeable about Indonesia’s history, and shared a lot that was super helpful in making this journey a memorable one. He also guided me step by step for the temple ritual and I felt very safe and comfortable! It was great to have one Guide take me through the entire journey rather than having a separate driver and guide. 100% recommended!!

Sandy was an amazing guide teaching me many things about Bali’s history, culture and customs. Things I probably should have already known given how long I’ve been coming to Bali.
