Le zoo de la ville d'Ichikawa ne figure sur aucun itineraire de Tokyo, et c'est precisement son attrait. C'est un petit zoo municipal a Chiba, a courte distance en voiture de la ville, et l'experience n'y ressemble en rien a Ueno, pas de file d'attente a chaque enclos, pas d'invitation a avancer, et des animaux suffisamment proches pour etre reellement observes.

Le zoo est une institution serieuse pour les pandas roux. Treize y vivent, ce qui represente une proportion significative de la population captive du Japon, et Ichikawa est devenu un leader de leur conservation. Ils sont les mascottes du zoo et l'enclos est construit autour de structures d'escalade en bois, donc vous les voyez faire ce que les pandas roux font vraiment plutot que dormir hors de vue.

We had an amazing private tour to Ichikawa Zoo with our guide, Hamza! Seeing the famous Punch-kun and the adorable red pandas was an unforgettable experience. Absolutely one of the best private tours we had in Japan! The driver was very polite, punctual, and spoke excellent English. The luxury vehicle was spotless and very comfortable throughout the trip. Visiting Punch-kun monkey was the highlight of our day he was incredibly cute and fun to watch! Everything was perfectly organized, and the whole experience felt smooth and relaxing. Amazing experience overal. Gama was a fantastic guide very calm, patient, and accommodating. He went the extra mile by offering us water, which was a thoughtful gesture. Everything was well organized, and we didn’t have to wait in line for tickets, which made the tour smooth and stress-free. Punch was adorable and definitely one of the best parts of the day The zoo was quite busy, but it didn’t affect our enjoyment. Great service, great hospitality would definitely recommend this tour to others.
