Horton Plains ne fonctionne qu'a l'aube, et ce seul fait façonne toute cette journee.

World's End fait face au sud. L'air chaud s'eleve de la plaine au cours de la matinee, et vers neuf ou dix heures la falaise est dans un nuage sans rien de visible du tout. Le portail ouvre a six heures, ce qui signifie partir de Nuwara Eliya a cinq heures, et il n'y a pas de version flexible de cela.

Le plateau se trouve a environ 2 300 metres et ne ressemble a aucun autre endroit au Sri Lanka, prairie montagnarde et foret de nuages, balaye par le vent et froid, avec des arbres rabougris couverts de mousse. La boucle fait neuf kilometres et trois a quatre heures, parcourue dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d'une montre pour que World's End arrive avant le nuage et les cascades de Baker au retour.

Avec la randonnee terminee en fin de matinee, le reste de la journee se remplit des choses qui n'ont pas besoin d'un depart matinal: une fabrique de the en activite suivant la feuille du bac de fletrissage a la table de tri, et les cascades de Ravana sur la route vers Ella.
