Puppet show was great, and dinner was traditional local food. Logistics were good despite the traffic, excellent communication from the staff.
Everything was perfect. Lovely guide, great seats at the puppet show and on the boat, smiles all round. Far exceeded my expectations.
Not sure whether anyone will have the same experience. I am fortunate enough to experience a 2on1 (driver and guide with me alone) arrangement with a guide (Ba Curong)that spoke excellent English and very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. They were able to arrange for the best seat in the house for the water puppet show (which is excellent) and the best table for the buffet (one step from the buffet spread). The best part of the your was the 1 hour conversation with the guide on the observation deck to learn about the growth of the city and the life of a local.
The guide I think was only starting out, his English wasn't too great so there was a little language barrier/struggle but he did really try. The water puppet show was fantastic to watch! The dinner cruise was a bit of a let down. The food was mediocre/poor, it was buffet style so some of it must have been out the whole day. The ship was pretty pack. The entertainment segment was interesting. Personally I would skip the meal and just choose the show, as the meal was really not worth it.
Great front row seats. Everything explained by a great guide. Definitely go to see this dhow.
Absolutely enjoyed Tony's expertise and professionalism. He navigated and prepared for any possible issues well in advance. His communication and efficiency was clear and concise so we could get to each venue on time.
Transport was good, puppetshow was well arranged with good seats. The boat tour was nice, the music in the boat was very loaf though (they turned it down when we asked and the singer ended her dhow with a passive aggressive "I hope you heard enough in the back, we had to turn down the music"). Food was ok, could be better. Overall a very good way to spend your evening with transport, so no need to think abput anything ypurself.
Awesome activity. A must do while in HCMC. Vincent, our guide was very helpful and had a great knowledge.
The puppet show was great fun and the dinner cruise thoroughly enjoyable.
