Full description

This is a 2-hour experience in Canggu. It is run by De Moksha Hospitality Group; Tours and Events, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Ubud has a dance performance every night of the week. The Legong, danced by young women in tight gold costumes with fast eye and finger work, and the Barong, the lion-like guardian fighting the witch Rangda, are the two most staged, with the Kecak chant done by a circle of men without instruments. Performances run about 90 minutes from 7:30 at the royal palace, Puri Saren Agung, at the Ubud Water Palace and at ARMA, the Agung Rai museum, whose stage is set in the museum gardens; tickets are sold at the venue during the day. Seats are unreserved, so arrive by 7:00 for the front rows.

I've been living in Indonesia for 25 years, and this was one of the best dining experiences which gave insight into Indonesian culture as well; not just excellent food, which was presented on using traditional Indonesian serving materials such banana leaf plates, and still looked like fine dining; large portions as well, we weren't able to finish it all. The staff also gave a lot of detailed background on Balinese culture in general, the ingredients used and cooking methods....... all in a cute restaurant..... A great experience Very much recommended!!
