This is a 1-hour experience in Canggu. It is run by Wild Art Bali, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Ubud's reputation as Bali's art town dates from the 1930s, when the painters Walter Spies and Rudolf Bonnet settled here and, with the royal family, founded the Pita Maha artists' association that shaped the Ubud painting style. The Neka, Puri Lukisan and ARMA museums hold the best collections, and the villages around the town still specialise: Batuan in painting, Mas in carving, Celuk in silver. Studio workshops take that into a few hours of making something yourself with an instructor, and you leave with the piece. Wear something that can take paint, wax or dye.

I think it would have been nice to see some examples and techniques before starting. Additionally I was allowed to pick only 5 colors which it has frustrated me a little. The experience is ok, but with small improvements I think I can be great.
