This is a 4-hour experience from Canggu, built around Denpasar. It is run by Trip Gotik - Bali Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Ubud town is walkable in a morning. The royal palace, Puri Saren Agung, faces the market on the main crossroads and hosts a dance performance most evenings; the Saraswati temple behind Starbucks has a lotus pond in front of it; and the Campuhan ridge walk is a paved two-kilometre path along a spur between two rivers on the western edge of town, best before 9:00 or after 4:00 when it is cooler. The art museums, Neka and Puri Lukisan, hold the best collections of the Ubud and Batuan painting styles. Traffic on the main streets is heavy by mid-morning, so do the walking first.

I really enjoyed this tour, not only because you get to eat amazing food but also because we went to parts of Denpasar that I’d otherwise have not visited. My son and I were the only ones on the tour so it was like our own private tour! The guide was really attentive, answered all our questions and made sure we got to experience a wide variety of food. My one suggestion to anyone considering this tour is make sure you turn up hungry - there is so much good food to eat! I really recommend this tour.

I was very lucky to have Agus all to myself, so it felt less like a tour and more like dinner with a local, which was very nice. Agus picked me up at my hotel and dropped me off, he was great conversation and answered all of my questions. It was nice to learn more about him and his family, the local food and customs.
