Full description
This is a 3-day experience in Ubud. It is run by Ecodive Bali, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Diving from Bali centres on three areas: Tulamben in the east, where the USAT Liberty wreck lies from 5 to 30 metres a short swim off the beach; Nusa Penida, with drift dives along the north coast, mantas at Manta Point and, from July to October, sunfish at Crystal Bay; and Menjangan in the north-west, with wall dives in the national park. Water is 26 to 29°C except at Penida in the mola season, when thermoclines drop it to 20. A PADI Open Water course takes three to four days including theory and confined-water sessions. Sea walker and discover-scuba sessions need no certification and stay shallow.
The price covers PADI Open Water Diver course, Five ocean dives, Equipment rental and Daily hotel transfers in Amed. It does not cover Meals and drinks, Personal expenses, Accommodation and Gratuities optional, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Hotel pickup in Ubud. Ecodive Bali confirms your pickup time and the exact spot once the booking is in. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Ecodive Bali before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

It was great, I had Sophie as an instructor and she was fluent in English and taught us all of the skills we needed and made everything so easy to learn. We also had a local guide take us to the shipwreck at Tulumben which was awesome! All of the staff at Eco-dive were always really friendly and the dive centre was a very social place. The kitchen team there were also brilliant and they always brought out food, water and tea before and after each dive which was so appreciated. All in all a great team and a great experience!
