Full description
This is a 2.5-hour experience in Ubud. It is run by Pranasanti By Luh Manis, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
A Balinese village day is about the compound and the rice cycle. A family compound is a walled group of pavilions around a household temple, laid out to a fixed pattern with the shrine to the mountain side; the kitchen and the rice barn have their own places in it. Around it the paddies run on the subak calendar, planting, flooding, harvesting and drying on the road, and the fields are worked by hand and by hand tractor. Mornings start early: the market at dawn, the offerings, breakfast of rice and coffee. Visits like this are hosted by the family, and a few words of Indonesian, a sarong for the temple and shoes off at the door are the courtesies that matter.
The price covers host and a visit to a Balinese house, Family garden, Spices, Guide for explanations and Coconut oil to take home. It does not cover Return transportation, Personal expenses and Tips, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

The instructor was very good. We loved the grandma in the kitchen showing us how to make coconut oil. We got the coconut oil and medicinal scrub to take home. The owner who gave us the tour was very friendly and even gave us fruit for breakfast. Highly recommend the class. Wonderful exposure to Balinese and Indonesian culture and everyday life.
I really appreciated this experience with this old women showing me how to make coco ut oil and boreh scrub. It was also a great moment sharing balinese culture. Thank you ❤️
merhabalar, gayet saygılı,kibar insanlardı.herşey yolunda gitti.kendilerine teşekkür ederim.sadece bir konuda hassasiyetimi iletmek isterim.benim gibi titiz misafirler için hijyen konusunda dikkatli olmaları gerektiğinizi düşünüyorum.başka yere dokunup ürüne el sürmelerini garipsedim.kullanılan kaplar, bezler yeni ve temiz olmalı.bu malzemeleri değiştirip ellerini ürünlere sokmasalar çok daha harika olacağına eminim.çünkü yüreği güzel insanlardı.hiç birini unutmayacağım.hepsine sevgiler :)
This was an amazing experience. Not only did we learn how to make coconut oil and body scrub using traditional methods, but learned so much about Balinese culture. We got to take some of the products home too and have loved using them! The women that ran the class are kind, informative, and helpful. They really care about what they do and sharing their traditions and culture. Would totally recommend!
