Balinese Traditional Activities in Ubud
Full description
This is a 4.5-hour experience from Ubud, built around Sidemen Village. It is run by Baliosa Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Balinese Hinduism is a religion of daily practice: the small palm-leaf offerings, canang sari, are set out each morning at doorways, shrines and dashboards, and a village temple has festivals on its own calendar, so there is a ceremony somewhere on the island every day. Visitors enter temples in a sarong and sash, provided at the gate, and stay out of the inner courtyards during prayer. Nyepi, the day of silence in March, closes the whole island for 24 hours, including the airport and the roads, and tours do not run that day. Balian, the traditional healers, and palm readers still practise in the villages around Ubud, and a reading is a conversation with an interpreter rather than a performance.
The price covers Hotel pick up and drop off, Entrance tickets or contributions, Ultimate Balinese experiences, Licensed English speaking guide and Welcome drink. It does not cover Special language guide, Personal expenses and gratuities for guide or driver, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Baliosa Tour sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Baliosa Tour before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Traveler Reviews
The curation of activities was just what I wanted to learn about Balinese culture, so I really loved getting to try out everything, walking through a beautiful route of rice fields and river, preparing and enjoying delicious food. All the hosts I met today were so warm and welcoming, a special thank you to Gek Inn and Kadek for taking such good care of me! :)
We had the BEST day with Bagus. He was a really good driver and took such good care of us. He was super knowledgeable and after we learned about weaving we walked through a beautiful village where we were so lucky to see the people preparing for the ceremony. The walk through the rice fields was gorgeous and the place where we had lunch was SO SO pretty! We got to cook in a traditional kitchen and drive the plow. We had such a good time. Everyone on the tour was so nice. Bagus lives up to his name; he was outstanding! When you go on these all day tours, you spend the whole day with the guide…w
