This is a 6-hour experience in Ubud. It is run by Beat Boat Bali, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Ubud's reputation as Bali's art town dates from the 1930s, when the painters Walter Spies and Rudolf Bonnet settled here and, with the royal family, founded the Pita Maha artists' association that shaped the Ubud painting style. The Neka, Puri Lukisan and ARMA museums hold the best collections, and the villages around the town still specialise: Batuan in painting, Mas in carving, Celuk in silver. Studio workshops take that into a few hours of making something yourself with an instructor, and you leave with the piece. Wear something that can take paint, wax or dye.

Good vibes , plenty of young people and party crowd . Boat leaves at 2pm. Buses don’t leave from temple bar until around 1:30pm.
