This is a 30-minute experience in Ubud. It is run by Adriana Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Horse riding on Bali happens on the black-sand beaches of Gianyar, at Saba and Keramas, half an hour south-east of Ubud, and at Sanur and Seminyak in the south. Rides run 60 to 90 minutes at a walk and trot along the sand and through the coconut groves behind it, on small, quiet Indonesian horses, with a guide leading beginners on a lead rope; helmets are provided and long trousers are sensible. Early morning and the last hour before sunset are the times to ride, for the light and because the sand is too hot underfoot in the middle of the day.
