Gunung Kawi Temple and Pakerisan UNESCO Guided Tour in Ubud
Full description
This is a 2-hour experience from Ubud, built around Gunung Kawi Temple and Pakerisan River. It is run by Trip Gotik - Bali Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Balinese Hinduism is a religion of daily practice: the small palm-leaf offerings, canang sari, are set out each morning at doorways, shrines and dashboards, and a village temple has festivals on its own calendar, so there is a ceremony somewhere on the island every day. Visitors enter temples in a sarong and sash, provided at the gate, and stay out of the inner courtyards during prayer. Nyepi, the day of silence in March, closes the whole island for 24 hours, including the airport and the roads, and tours do not run that day. Balian, the traditional healers, and palm readers still practise in the villages around Ubud, and a reading is a conversation with an interpreter rather than a performance.
The price covers Guided tour of Gunung Kawi Temple, Hotel transfer from Ubud Central, Transfer from Ubud Palace, Mineral water and Insurance. It does not cover Personal expenses and Food and drinks, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Traveler Reviews
We had an amazing morning We were picked up on time for a visit to the temple, and our guide was able to tell us a lot about the local culture and surroundings. A special thank you to our guide and driver. If I remember correctly, his name was Wayan sana. He made the experience
Very insightful and fun tour. Andrian is very knowledgeable and gave a lot of information on Hindu, Balinese and Indonesian history. The temple and shrines are beautiful and not crowded. We only saw two couples, so I could really gasp the atmosphere of this site. I recommend to take an early tour (I had 7:30am), as there are a couple of stairs to get to the temple which later you have to go up again. With more heat that‘s even more difficult.
The tour did not disappoint and the temple was even more beautiful than I expected - truly mesmerising and I felt so tranquil in the jungle valley. Ryan was an amazing guide. He was Incredibly kind and knowledgeable. He was really good at answering my questions about Balinese history and he even gave me a free trip to a coffee plantation afterwards.
Ryan is an excellent guide who possesses much knowledge of Balinese culture and customs. The temples were powerful to experience early in the day. And we had enough time to stop along the way back at a coffee plantation. A very pleasant outing all up.
it was really pleasant to discover this temple and something more about Balinese culture
Indah our guide was personable, on time and her car was comfortable and very clean. she gave good background history of the temple, answered our questions about Balinese culture in general and the coffee tour afterwards was a welcome relaxing time after climbing all the temple steps.
Kar our guide was really nice and really helpful he knows so much interesting things about the places and everything I really enjoyed it and I recommend it
The Tour with our great guide Kar was awesome! He told us a lot about the culture of Bali, the religion there and also about the life with the nature & the communities in the countryside. He can answer all the questions & has lots of good recommendations for Bali. The temple is a really quiet place with only a few tourists, that respect the rules of a temple & behave properly and not only searching for the next Insta-Photo-Spot. The nature in & beside the temple calms you really down. We can only recommend this tour, because you can learn a lot in a short time with a great guide & a safe drive
Ketut showed me so many experiences in Bali in our time together. Though I am a solo traveler, he and I had a great conversation throughout the day. Highly recommend!
Great tour visiting an ancient site for old kings and officials of Bali. My guide, Agus, was really knowledgeable and spent time explaining and sharing the history of the place. Come visit for a low-key experience of Bali and to enjoy the valley scenery and the beauty of Bali's countryside.
