This is a 3-hour experience in Ubud. It is run by Bali Silver Class, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Sacred Monkey Forest in Padangtegal, on the southern edge of Ubud town, is around 12 hectares of forest holding roughly a thousand long-tailed macaques and three temples that date from the fourteenth century. The monkeys are wild and used to people, which is a combination that costs visitors sunglasses, water bottles and anything edible every day; the rule is to carry nothing loose, to avoid eye contact with a monkey that is staring at you, and never to touch one. The forest opens at 9:00 and the last hour before closing is the quietest. The temples inside are working temples and are entered only by worshippers.

Such an amazing experience! You get to make most of the ring yourself, always under the watchful eye of a skilled silversmith. If any step feels too difficult, you can simply ask for more help. You can also add gemstones to your jewellery or even make it from gold if you prefer. Our instructors, Edi and Kadek Ber, were absolutely wonderful—patient, friendly, and incredibly helpful. We highly recommend both them and the workshop!

Both my wife and I loved our experience here and we made two silver rings which we will always cherish. We were lucky to be in just a group of 2, our silver expert/guide called Eddie was so friendly and took us through every single step in lots of detail and showed us how to make the rings all while doing it with a smile on his face. He really made this experience special for us and made rings that will last a lifetime. There’s a whole range of ring designs and nothing is too hard for them to make, they’re real experts in their craft.
