Full description
This is a 2-hour experience in Ubud. It is run by Aum Rudraksha Design, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Balinese Hinduism is a religion of daily practice: the small palm-leaf offerings, canang sari, are set out each morning at doorways, shrines and dashboards, and a village temple has festivals on its own calendar, so there is a ceremony somewhere on the island every day. Visitors enter temples in a sarong and sash, provided at the gate, and stay out of the inner courtyards during prayer. Nyepi, the day of silence in March, closes the whole island for 24 hours, including the airport and the roads, and tours do not run that day. Balian, the traditional healers, and palm readers still practise in the villages around Ubud, and a reading is a conversation with an interpreter rather than a performance.
The price covers 100 Rudraksha beads, 8 gemstones of your choice, Rudraksha pendant and spacer, 1 Aum charm and All materials needed to create your Mala. It does not cover Additional gemstones, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Aum Rudraksha Design sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Aum Rudraksha Design before treating your booking as final.
