Full description
This is a 2-hour experience from Ubud, built around Pura Mengening. It is run by Trip Gotik - Bali Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Balinese Hinduism is a religion of daily practice: the small palm-leaf offerings, canang sari, are set out each morning at doorways, shrines and dashboards, and a village temple has festivals on its own calendar, so there is a ceremony somewhere on the island every day. Visitors enter temples in a sarong and sash, provided at the gate, and stay out of the inner courtyards during prayer. Nyepi, the day of silence in March, closes the whole island for 24 hours, including the airport and the roads, and tours do not run that day. Balian, the traditional healers, and palm readers still practise in the villages around Ubud, and a reading is a conversation with an interpreter rather than a performance.

Sana is a great guide. He is knowledgeable & patient. He knows a lot about his history and culture which he enthusiasticly shares. He speaks very good English. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time, such as he and his mother created 'offerings' for us to give at the temple during our purification/cleansing He was on time and even offered to give us a lift back to our hotel as he lived near-by. Great vakue for money - highly recommend!
My guide Mangku was fantastic. He made my visit to the water temple very special and personal, explained the purpose of the spiritual cleansing and took his time guiding me through the whole process.

We liked the real experience in Mangening cause it was a small and quiet environment. Also many locals were there for the purification that day. Our guide Mangku, guided us throughout the entire cleansing giving us lots of information Hindu religion! Beautiful person!

Thank you to our guide Yoga for explaining a lot of Balinese culture and the spirituality insights to us. He guided us a complete meditation and prayer before the water purification, he helped us taking photos. I will look for Yoga if I need a tour guide again.
