Full description
This is a 6-hour experience from Ubud, built around Mount Batur. It is run by Your Bali Trekking Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Mount Batur is an active volcano of 1,717 metres standing inside a much older caldera, with Lake Batur on the floor of it. Sunrise treks start from Toya Bungkah on the lake shore, climb for around two hours on volcanic sand and loose rock, and aim to be on the rim by about 5:30, since the sun comes up between 6:00 and 6:30 depending on the month, behind the cone of Mount Agung to the east. The summit before dawn is regularly 8 to 12°C with wind, so a real warm layer matters more than anything else you pack. Trekking is run through the local village association, which is why every tour, ours included, comes with a guide, and most mornings end at the hot springs on the lake shore. Jeep and ATV versions drive to a viewpoint on the flank of the volcano for the same sunrise and skip the climb, which is the right choice for knees, small children and anyone who did not sleep. In the wet season, November to March, the top is often inside cloud at dawn and there is no refund for weather.

What an amazing experience! The landscape is truly surreal and our guide showed us around this on the ATVs, the he took us to the Black Sands where we were able to truly play, speeding around up and down the sand dunes. None of our party has done ATV before and one has no vehicle driving experience, but all three of us were able to enjoy every minute. Monparis was our guide and he spoke great English and was very helpful with a great smile, he also took photos and videos of us which he then shared at the end. Would highly recommend and will do again if back in Bali
Despite arriving late the staff were really accommodating to us and made sure that we had a really good time! There was a few things that went wrong but the staff always made up for it and we’re more than happy to help out and be friendly with us. The scenery was amazing and the Black volcano was very very pretty. 10 out of 10 would recommend again
We absolutely loved quad biking around Mount Batur. The views are spectacular. We were warmly welcomed by all 3 lovely staff members. Our guide was amazing - so friendly & kind. He carried our waters throughout and was very chatty and bubbly throughout the tour. Loved that we got time to explore the volcano lava ourselves - with our guide watching us from a higher point & quickly coming to us if needed. Really want to thank the teams lovely mechanic for giving us a lift on his motorbike up the hill when we couldn’t get a taxi to come down. We really appreciated his kindness. Overall a brillian

Amazing activity - even if you’ve never done it before they help you out a lot and it’s incredibly fun
It was fun! So exhilarating and being able to drive the ATV’s for some free time was great fun on the black lava sands! Kadek picked us up from the accommodation on time and made sure we got there all good!

Everything was great. Arta did a great job and picked us on time with full service. Enjoyed the drive to the start point. Also the guide was really great. We had so much fun. We got a good explantation how it was working. Even while driving with the ATV we got some water. The guide takes a lot of pictures and videos. Everything is was amazing. the ramen the four wheelers need a little bit of work but the trip was fantastic and I would suggest it to anybody I hope that the vendor gets them a little bit more workable but it was a fantastic trip
Highly enjoyable, quad bike experience was loads of fun on a mix of terrains and basically on the slopes of Mt Agung, hot springs are beautiful, very relaxing once you navigate the persistent vendors. Our driver for the whole day, Deekwann, did a fantastic job, was friendly, accommodating and we are so grateful that he looked after us all day and navigated the round trip. Highly recommend tour!
I had such a great time even if it was raining! It was my first time and the instructor was so kind and encouraging and made it so much fun! DEPA was also an amazing driver and host.
