Full description
This is a 4-hour experience from Ubud, built around Mount Batur. It is run by PT. Gorilla Adventures Bali, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Mount Batur is an active volcano of 1,717 metres standing inside a much older caldera, with Lake Batur on the floor of it. Sunrise treks start from Toya Bungkah on the lake shore, climb for around two hours on volcanic sand and loose rock, and aim to be on the rim by about 5:30, since the sun comes up between 6:00 and 6:30 depending on the month, behind the cone of Mount Agung to the east. The summit before dawn is regularly 8 to 12°C with wind, so a real warm layer matters more than anything else you pack. Trekking is run through the local village association, which is why every tour, ours included, comes with a guide, and most mornings end at the hot springs on the lake shore. Jeep and ATV versions drive to a viewpoint on the flank of the volcano for the same sunrise and skip the climb, which is the right choice for knees, small children and anyone who did not sleep. In the wet season, November to March, the top is often inside cloud at dawn and there is no refund for weather.

The trip was very nice and we couldn't be more pleased with how everything went! Even though we had to wake up early, the driver, Deksu made the whole experience enjoyable. Die Quadfahrt hat sehr Spaß gemacht. Es war ein richtiges Abenteuer. Das Zip Line & Cretya Alas Harum hat leider nicht so Spaß gemacht. Wir möchten jedoch eine Sache besonders hervorzuheben. Wir hatten heute das zweite mal den Fahrer Gunn. Wir haben die Aktivität inklusive Transport von der Villa und wieder zurück gebucht. Gunn war wie zuvor zu jederzeit pünktlich. Er hat uns über die Aktivitäten sowie über den Ablauf stehts aufgeklärt. Vor Ort hat er alle Organisation übernommen, sodass wir uns um nichts kümmern mussten. Zudem konnten wir unsere Taschen und Wertsachen ohne sorgen in seinem Au
ATV was amazing! The zip line and pool was far too commercial
The actual getting to the top and watching the sunrise on Mount Batur was beautiful. A once in a lifetime experience. Also the guides were very lovely. However tandem ATV not a good idea as it’s so steep to drive up, I had to get off the back and walk in the dark at one point with no help and in boots which don’t fit. My husband got stuck 3 times. Think it would be better in the jeep. Then the rocky drive has given me a black bruise on my leg due to sitting on the bars at the back and I’m in a lot of pain now and was when we were driving even asking to stop. Also we only got 1 hr at cretya and
