Full description
This is a 3-hour experience from Ubud, built around Mount Batur. It is run by PT. Gorilla Adventures Bali, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Mount Batur is an active volcano of 1,717 metres standing inside a much older caldera, with Lake Batur on the floor of it. Sunrise treks start from Toya Bungkah on the lake shore, climb for around two hours on volcanic sand and loose rock, and aim to be on the rim by about 5:30, since the sun comes up between 6:00 and 6:30 depending on the month, behind the cone of Mount Agung to the east. The summit before dawn is regularly 8 to 12°C with wind, so a real warm layer matters more than anything else you pack. Trekking is run through the local village association, which is why every tour, ours included, comes with a guide, and most mornings end at the hot springs on the lake shore. Jeep and ATV versions drive to a viewpoint on the flank of the volcano for the same sunrise and skip the climb, which is the right choice for knees, small children and anyone who did not sleep. In the wet season, November to March, the top is often inside cloud at dawn and there is no refund for weather.

This was an incredible trip. The atv part was very much 4WD, and the sunrise was beautiful at the top of the mountain. The rafting part was also incredible, but be aware it included a few hundred uneven stairs up and down to get to the river. The rafting itself was very fun, also very safe. The organisation was perfect. Overall, excellent trip.
Monparis & baros was really kind, and made our experience a moment to remember, speak very good English and a great amount of time to enjoy the view and and fun! Would definitely come back and recommend them! Thank you Mae&Joe

Die Aktivität war klasse! Das Quad fahren wurde kurz geübt und es wurde drauf geachtet, das jeder damit zu Recht kommt, im Dunkeln sind wir zum Berg und die Aussicht war super, der Sonnenaufgang wunderschön und auch das kleine Frühstück war gut! Das Vulkangestein war cool und die Fahrt mit dem Quad dorthin war lustig! Das Rafting war ein Mega Erlebnis und das Essen dort war danach auch sehr lecker!
We had a great day and really enjoyed the whole tour. Gunawan picked us up on time and everything was very well organized from start to finish. His English was not perfect, but it was enough for some nice small talk, and he was always very friendly and welcoming. The most memorable moment was when I only wore shorts for the early morning volcano hike and got really cold. Without hesitation, Gunawan gave me his own blanket and went without it himself so I could stay warm. He also made sure we didn't miss any of the tour benefits. Je recommande à 100 % ! Gede s’est occupé de tous nos transferts entre les différentes activités, ce qui a rendu l’expérience très agréable et sans stress. Le tour en quad était incroyable, surtout avec la vue magnifique au lever du soleil. Nous avons ensuite profité d’une dégustation de thés et de cafés avant de partir pour le rafting. Le déjeuner était très bon et tous les guides étaient vraiment au top. Franchement, rien à redire !
everything was perfect from the beginning to the end. the communication was fast and easy. atv tour and sunrise was one of my best experiences so far. the quads and tour guides were great as well. the rafting was so much fun as well. everything was fast no waiting times and clear constructions. would def do it again and recommend it to everyone. 10/10
