This is a 5-hour experience from Ubud, built around Mount Batur and Tibumana Waterfall. It is run by Your Bali Trekking Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Mount Batur is an active volcano of 1,717 metres standing inside a much older caldera, with Lake Batur on the floor of it. Sunrise treks start from Toya Bungkah on the lake shore, climb for around two hours on volcanic sand and loose rock, and aim to be on the rim by about 5:30, since the sun comes up between 6:00 and 6:30 depending on the month, behind the cone of Mount Agung to the east. The summit before dawn is regularly 8 to 12°C with wind, so a real warm layer matters more than anything else you pack. Trekking is run through the local village association, which is why every tour, ours included, comes with a guide, and most mornings end at the hot springs on the lake shore. Jeep and ATV versions drive to a viewpoint on the flank of the volcano for the same sunrise and skip the climb, which is the right choice for knees, small children and anyone who did not sleep. In the wet season, November to March, the top is often inside cloud at dawn and there is no refund for weather.

The driver, Suka was super punctual and super nice. The hike was a little bit hard (for people who train regularly) but worth it. The little breakfast was nice, and our guide in that activity was worry all the time about everything was ok. After that our driver, suka again drove us to a coffe plantation and to the Tibumana waterfall, which was very beautiful. I recommend the experience for the price and nice people

There were some complications with our pickup, but the team went above and beyond to fix it. Our travel guide Roman was amazing, hilarious, respectful and made us feel safe. Our driver Baim was great too!
Denny was my driver and he was great. On time and great communication. The hike itself was harder than I thought! Don’t underestimate it! I wish we took some more breaks during the steeper parts because I was winded. Nonetheless the view was great. The coffee tasting was also a highlight.

10/10 Experience with D! D was an incredible driver for my day trip from Seminyak! He was punctual, chatty, and made sure I was comfortable the entire day. The car was spotless, and he waited patiently for me while I hiked the volcano, relaxed at the hot springs, and toured a coffee plantation. At the waterfalls, he even walked down with me and took awesome photos! The whole trip felt safe, easy, and fun. Highly recommend D, especially if you're a solo traveler!

I had an amazing experience! I was picked up right on time, and the entire day was perfectly organized. The Mount Batur sunrise was absolutely breathtaking, and everyone was so kind and helpful. After the hike, we visited a coffee plantation and a beautiful waterfall, which made the trip even more special. Prapte Baguszz was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made sure I had the best experience from start to finish. He also took so many beautiful photos of me, which I really appreciated. What a crazy experience. Started the day off hiking Mt. Batur with our guide Purna. Do not underestimate the climb! Purna took really good care of us and was super helpful and friendly. He also made us a delicous breakfast on top of the mountain. What a great guy! Our driver for the whole day (Batur, coffee plantation, lunch place, waterfall) named Tora was the absolute greatest!!! Such an amazing trip! We had Rama as our driver and he was so flexible. He let us take our time to see everything and didn’t stress us. He was very nice and a safe driver. We accidentally put in the wrong pick up location, and when we told him he said it isn’t a problem and he would come to our location. He didn’t make any kind of fuss. Our tour started at 1AM where he picked us up since our stay was in Uluwatu. The hike was exhausting but the feeling of being up there is unimaginable!
