Full description
This is a 8-hour experience in Ubud. It is run by Trip Gotik - Bali Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Mount Batur is an active volcano of 1,717 metres standing inside a much older caldera, with Lake Batur on the floor of it. Sunrise treks start from Toya Bungkah on the lake shore, climb for around two hours on volcanic sand and loose rock, and aim to be on the rim by about 5:30, since the sun comes up between 6:00 and 6:30 depending on the month, behind the cone of Mount Agung to the east. The summit before dawn is regularly 8 to 12°C with wind, so a real warm layer matters more than anything else you pack. Trekking is run through the local village association, which is why every tour, ours included, comes with a guide, and most mornings end at the hot springs on the lake shore. Jeep and ATV versions drive to a viewpoint on the flank of the volcano for the same sunrise and skip the climb, which is the right choice for knees, small children and anyone who did not sleep. In the wet season, November to March, the top is often inside cloud at dawn and there is no refund for weather.

We had a great time today at the volcano, we got there early enough to take beautiful pictures and have a light breakfast there. our guide Nyoman is a truly expert with pictures! He makes miracles with your cell phone modes and is very creative. I recommend you look for him if you want to get the great experience plus the amazing memories in puctures.

Our trip was amazing it was a once in a lifetime experience, one I would definitely recommend. Our wonderful experience was especially thanks to our guide Amut. He was absolutely amazing and spent the whole tour making sure we got the best out of this experience. He spent the trip taking amazing photographs and videos of us and making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Amut went above and beyond and gave us great insight into the surrounding local village which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Although the trip started super early, the sunrise was definitely worth the effort! we visited the black lava field as well after sunset, and the guide was so patient and caring during our whole trip! The jungle swing was fun and excited!

Nyoman was an amazing tour guide. Very considerate throughout the tour and does his job properly and is worth every penny as he went above and beyond taking my photos as they were amazing.
Wayan and Nemo were amazing! It was a great tour and absolutely worth it. Wayan was an excellent driver-very patient and always ready to help us with anything we needed. After the tour, he even took us to a bank so we could get the different bills for our souvenir collection, which we really appreciated. Nemo is like a professional photographer because he captured incredible photos while we were waiting, during the sunrise, and at the lava fields. Highly recommend! The trip was marvelous, we enjoyed the whole experience so much. Our tour guide Adi was so amazing, we loved every second of the trip. He offered a lot of information and insights, even took as to a wonderful waterfall which wasn’t in the original itinerary. Definitely the best guide in Bali, we would recommend this trip to everyone! We will remember this day for a long time. One of the best experiences in Bali for sure.
Hendra was amazing from the start, he picked me up at my hostel, always made sure I was okay and if I needed anything. Later, I joined Nemo and we did the Mount Batur experience by jeep. Nemo was incredible, even though I did the activity solo, he made sure I felt comfortable the whole time, took lots of photos of me and shared really interesting facts about the volcano. After that, I was back with Hendra, who took me to a tea and coffee tasting and then to the Bali Swing, such a fun way to end the morning. I loved the whole experience and would 100% recommend it 🤩
My guide Eka was so friendly and really made the trip special for me. As well as the sunrise and swing, he also took me to Black Lava and a coffee plantation. I would thoroughly recommend this experience.
An early start from Ubud, but well worth the trek. The weather was perfect and the sunrise amazing. My jeep driver, Nyoman, was amazing! He took such incredible pictures of me on the jeep! Defintley recommend this tour!
