Full description
This is a 5-hour experience from Ubud, built around Local café and Mount Batur. It is run by Your Bali Trekking Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Mount Batur is an active volcano of 1,717 metres standing inside a much older caldera, with Lake Batur on the floor of it. Sunrise treks start from Toya Bungkah on the lake shore, climb for around two hours on volcanic sand and loose rock, and aim to be on the rim by about 5:30, since the sun comes up between 6:00 and 6:30 depending on the month, behind the cone of Mount Agung to the east. The summit before dawn is regularly 8 to 12°C with wind, so a real warm layer matters more than anything else you pack. Trekking is run through the local village association, which is why every tour, ours included, comes with a guide, and most mornings end at the hot springs on the lake shore. Jeep and ATV versions drive to a viewpoint on the flank of the volcano for the same sunrise and skip the climb, which is the right choice for knees, small children and anyone who did not sleep. In the wet season, November to March, the top is often inside cloud at dawn and there is no refund for weather.

One of the best experiences I had in Bali! The hike was a lot more challenging than I expected, but there are motorbikes that can take you most of the way up if you need. Watching the sunrise from the top of the mountain is worth it. I also loved visiting the hot springs and coffee plantation afterwards, it's an amazing way to see more of Bali. Our driver Prapte was very helpful and knowledgable, which made the experience more enjoyable.
It’s an epically fun trip. Pack a light jersey for the top. You are hot but it cools fast. The views from up there are spectacular.
This was an amazing trip with an incredible sunrise view and fun hiking experience. Our driver Dekwan was fantastic, very kind and easy to communicate with - making our experience very easy and smooth. Also, our tour guide Chalong (Sorry I don’t know how to spell it!) was amazing too, so nice and helped us all the way up and down on the hike. Our tour guide also took amazing pictures too.
Andi the driver was really good and picked us up from the villa. The hot spring was slightly underwhelming, very busy. But good spot.

I was a great experience to watch the sunrise at Mount Batur. Is about 1.5 hours hiking. In the first 20 minutes if you don’t are able to make the hike there’s motorcycles rider waiting to offer a ride (paid of course), the guide Gede dawan was good he makes sure you are Ok and offer to do many pauses as you need. He also helps you with photos I was traveling alone to what was very helpful. The driver Agus was very nice and explained on the way my questions.
I had a great time with our guide Wikan, very caring and very attentive to our needs, I recommend this excursion and good luck to the brave who wants to climb the volcano the effort is worth it, the view is amazing. ☺️ thank you also to the driver Depa who is a good guide.
This experience was incredible and such good value for money! We added the car transfer option only the day before and it was all organised quickly and efficiently for us via Whatsapp. The tour guide Petra was super friendly and allowed us to go at our own pace while doing the climb all while motivating us and offering a helping hand along the way! The climb was a little more difficult than we had anticipated at the beginning and towards the end but it is well worth it for the incredible views at the top. The hot springs trip afterwards was a really great way of relaxing after the early mornin

We enjoyed our tour to mount Batur, the hot springs and the coffee plantation! The advertised hours for each activity, was the time you really got. This time is sufficient enough to experience everything. Our driver, Supredi, was an excellent driver and very friendly! We had such a good time and he picked us up at the agreed about time at our hotel! The guides which guided us up and down the mountain were very friendly and helpful! They took some of us by the hand on slippery parts on the way up and down.
Our driver Agus was amazing, making the day easy for us. Our guide Sar was fantastic and made the amazing experience even better, and made sure we had great photos of us. The views from the top were incredible - best thing i’ve done in Bali!
