Full description
This is a 3-hour experience in Ubud. It is run by Jeep Tour Adventure, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Mount Batur is an active volcano of 1,717 metres standing inside a much older caldera, with Lake Batur on the floor of it. Sunrise treks start from Toya Bungkah on the lake shore, climb for around two hours on volcanic sand and loose rock, and aim to be on the rim by about 5:30, since the sun comes up between 6:00 and 6:30 depending on the month, behind the cone of Mount Agung to the east. The summit before dawn is regularly 8 to 12°C with wind, so a real warm layer matters more than anything else you pack. Trekking is run through the local village association, which is why every tour, ours included, comes with a guide, and most mornings end at the hot springs on the lake shore. Jeep and ATV versions drive to a viewpoint on the flank of the volcano for the same sunrise and skip the climb, which is the right choice for knees, small children and anyone who did not sleep. In the wet season, November to March, the top is often inside cloud at dawn and there is no refund for weather.

It does not cover Tip for the driver and Hotel pick-up and drop-off, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Fahrer ist nicht zum Treffpunkt erschienen. Telefonisch auch nicht zu erreichen. Sehr traurig!
Excellent services and tour: they were friendly and fast to reply, help in taking lots of photos(no rushing), provided mask+blankets+snacks+water, hot drinks(some don’t provide food etc), clean the seats for you(becoz of the water vapour), even waiting & waving bye until we leave in our transport after. We were the last to leave mount batur and had a very nice additional experience to others, very worth it. If you are visiting, Join them, take this tour!!! Say hi to their welcoming white dog(not that white with black lava sand :) -u may spot him along the way), he’s so happy jumping when there
Franchement c’est beau pour faire des photos mais aucun réel intérêt
Très bonne expérience dans sa globalité, excepté le chauffeur du transfert Ubud à mon batur. Le matin quand il est venu nous chercher, il roulait très vite alors qu’il y avait beaucoup de pluie, nous n’étions pas tranquille pendant le trajet. Et au retour je pense qu’il y a eu une incompréhension, il voulait nous faire aller à la visite de la plantation alors que ça ne faisait pas partie de notre Tour. L’erreur n’est pas très grave, mais sa réaction était très agacé. Et ça nous a mis mal à l’aise. Par contre la jeep était adorable, il nous a bien accompagné et expliqué sur mont batur.
